Swallows in Derelict Hangar Before Dawn

Deep shadows engulf the interior of a crumbling aircraft hangar near Šiauliai, where late autumn grasses reclaim the courtyard outside. Thin rim light traces the jagged edges of broken roof beams and rusted steel trusses, separating the dark void from the cool gray sky. A flock of swallows cuts through the stillness, their wings blurring slightly as they navigate the high rafters. Dampness rests on the rough stone foundations and peeling paint, visible in the way the light catches moisture on the concrete floor. Layers of depth recede from the foreground debris into the distant, hollow space. One shadow stretches across a patch of dry, yellowed grass near the entrance.
