Rusted Silo Complex at Dawn in Sohag

First rays of late summer sun strike the corrugated metal skin of a massive grain silo complex near Sohag. Rust streaks in deep orange and brown run vertically down the cylindrical walls, obscuring the original paint. Heavy steel ladders climb the exterior, their rungs corroded and flaking, rendering them useless for ascent. The structure stands adjacent to an active worksite where fresh concrete and machinery occupy the foreground. The sky above is a pale, clear blue, devoid of clouds. Shadows stretch long across the dusty ground, showing the mechanical severity of the industrial forms. One ladder rung, pitted with rust, rests against the silo wall in the lower right corner.
