Silhouetted Pigeons Over Derelict Depot
Honeyed evening light floods the interior of a crumbling train depot near Tlaquepaque, casting the broken rafters into sharp black silhouette against a perfectly clear sky. The structure's roof is largely gone, exposing the wet-season earth and scattered debris below to the open air. Dozens of pigeons circle in tight, rhythmic patterns within the hollowed frame, their dark forms stark against the glowing backdrop. Dust hangs suspended in the beams where the light penetrates, catching the golden hour glow. The remaining brickwork shows patches of faded ochre and exposed mortar, weathered by time. The birds' wings create a chaotic rhythm above the stillness of the decay, their flight paths tracing invisible lines across the vast open space. One feather drifts down from the highest rafter, landing softly on a pile of dried clay.
