Honey-colored light pours through tall, grimy windows, illuminating dust motes that hang suspended in the stagnant air of a decaying asylum ward. The corridor stretches forward, defined by a row of heavy wooden doors standing wide open on rusted hinges. Broken glass shards litter the worn stone floor, catching the low afternoon sun in sharp, glittering fragments. Plaster peels from the walls in long, curling strips, revealing gray brick beneath the faded paint. The early spring sun casts long, angled shadows that stretch across the hallway, showing the depth of the passage. Dust swirls in the shafts of light where the ceiling has partially collapsed, creating a thick, visible haze that softens the edges of the distant doorway.
