Decaying Colonial Mansion Yunnan Vine Corridor in along a vine-choked corridor in Yunnan

Decaying Colonial Mansion Yunnan Vine Corridor

by Ramon Drake

Rich amber sunset light floods a corridor choked with thick, dry vines climbing the peeling stucco walls of a decaying colonial mansion. Arched verandas stand empty, their broken wooden shutters hanging at odd angles or missing entirely, revealing dark, hollow interiors. Dust particles drift in visible shafts of golden light that pierce through gaps in the roofline and overgrown foliage. The dry season leaves the ground covered in cracked earth and scattered brittle leaves, showing the long abandonment. Weathered stone steps lead up to the porch, where the texture of rotting wood meets the rough, green vines. A shattered piece of glass lies on the threshold, catching the final glow of the sun before twilight.
