Anglerfish Lurking Among Winter Kelp

Twilight blue light falls through dense kelp fronds swaying in the deep Sardinian waters. A massive anglerfish rests near the forest floor, its bioluminescent lure glowing with a pale, sickly green intensity that cuts through the dimming depth. The water remains exceptionally clear, revealing the rough, leathery texture of the kelp stems and the smooth, dark scales of the predator. Slow-moving surface ripples distort the fading sunlight above, creating elongated shafts of silver that penetrate the gloom. The kelp forest frames the creature on all sides, its fronds hanging like heavy curtains in the still winter air.
