Blue Tang School Along Coral Reef at Dawn

Vibrant electric blue scales shimmer as a dense school of blue tangs navigates the edge of a vertical coral wall. The fish move in synchronized unison, their yellow tails and black dorsal fins creating rhythmic patterns against the textured limestone. Sunlight pierces the water from above, casting long, soft beams that illuminate suspended particles and highlight the rough, porous surface of the reef. The water beyond the wall is a deep, translucent azure, marked only by slow, glassy ripples on the surface. Each scale reflects the pale morning light, creating a mosaic of bright highlights and shadowed underbellies. Tiny fragments of broken coral drift near the fish's noses as they glide through the cool, still water.
