Clear turquoise water frames a parrotfish hovering beside a jagged reef crevice near Cairns. Shafts of golden sunlight pierce the surface, illuminating the fish's vibrant blue and green scales while casting long shadows against the coral below. Tiny suspended particles glitter like diamonds in the light columns, creating a shimmering haze around the creature. The water transitions from bright surface glow to deep indigo shadows where the reef drops away into the abyss. Soft ripples on the surface distort the light beams slightly. The parrotfish remains motionless, its fins barely moving against the current. A final ray of sun catches the edge of a coral branch, highlighting its rough, porous texture.
