Fusiliers Schooling Along Reef Drop-off at Dawn

Deep shadow envelopes the left side of the coral wall where a dense school of fusiliers streams horizontally across the frame. The fish move in a unified silver ribbon against the darkening rock face, their bodies catching the faintest rim light that outlines each scale in a sharp, cool edge. Beyond the reef, the water opens into a vast expanse of nautical blue, softened by a suspended haze of plankton that blurs the distance. The scene remains still, with the fish providing the only motion in a composition dominated by deep blues and grays. One fish near the front glows with a subtle iridescence where the dim light strikes its flank.
