Rajasthan Valley Fog Wall Under Autumn Canopy
by Mark Lester
Hard midday sunlight strikes a vast valley floor where a thick fog bank rises like a solid wall, its top edge a knife-sharp horizontal line cutting across the lower third of the view. Above this impossible barrier, a patchwork canopy of autumn colors stretches endlessly, displaying deep ochres, burnt siennas, and fading greens typical of late summer Rajasthan. The sea spray in the air creates a faint, shimmering haze that catches the harsh light, turning droplets into tiny diamonds against the dry earth tones. Below the sharp line, the fog remains a uniform, opaque white void, swallowing the valley floor completely while the tree tops float in brilliant clarity. A shadow from a distant ridge falls across the canopy, at the base of the surreal separation between the solid sky and the empty abyss.
