Ruined Greenhouse Nave With Frost and Soil in inside a collapsed lobby under broken plaster near Ibadan

Ruined Greenhouse Nave With Frost and Soil

by Ronald Newton

Thick black soil mounds across the tiled floor of a collapsed greenhouse nave, pressing against the base of remaining glass panes. Frost crystals rest on the surviving window surfaces, glistening under the flat noon glare filtering through the north-facing openings. Broken plaster hangs in ragged strips from the ceiling beams above, revealing the structural decay of the lobby. Polished fragments of debris catch small, sharp highlights that punctuate the dim interior. Layers of depth recede into the shadowed distance where nature begins to reclaim the space. The contrast between the white frost and the dark earth defines the texture of this wet season ruin near Ibadan.
