Ruined Greenhouse Nave Fig Roots Rain in inside a roofless hammam in Zapopan

Ruined Greenhouse Nave Fig Roots Rain

by Brody Potts

Pale morning light falls through sheer curtains, illuminating the interior of a roofless hammam structure in Zapopan. A ruined greenhouse nave dominates the space, its skeletal frame split by thick fig roots that have surged through the floor. Dark, black soil mounds across the scattered roof tiles, creating uneven ridges that catch the first light. The dry season holds the air still, leaving dust settled on the rough surfaces. Shadows stretch long across the debris, defined by the angle of the sun hitting the fabric drapes. The roots curve upward, gripping the broken masonry with visible tension against the fading walls.
