Peeling white paint flakes from the broken archway reveal layers of decay beneath a canopy of overgrown vines. Rain has turned the interior floor into a shallow, reflective pool where shattered window glass glints under the flat noon glare. Sunlight floods the empty room, illuminating dust motes suspended in the humid air. One, rusted crib frame stands against a water-stained wall, its wooden slats warped by moisture. Green moss carpets the lower sections of the crumbling plaster, creeping up toward the exposed roof beams. Through the open doorway, the silhouette of a distant pine tree marks the edge of the property. at the edge is a small bird's nest tucked into the jagged remains of a broken cornice, weaving twigs among the rotting wood.
