Inflated Pufferfish at South African Dawn
Low sun strikes the horizon haze, casting a pale amber glow that fades into deep oceanic blue. A pufferfish floats center-frame, its body fully inflated into a rigid sphere covered in short, dark spines that catch the faint light. Tiny suspended particles glitter throughout the water column, creating a field of scattered diamonds against the dark backdrop. The fish hovers just above the sandy seabed, its round form against the soft gradient of the water above. Shadows stretch long and faint across the textured sand, while the surface ripples above reflect the dying night sky. The spines on the fish's flank catch a single point of light, highlighting the rough texture against the smooth water.
