Grass Through Broken Stone Arch Omdurman

Sunlight breaks through low morning haze, illuminating a weathered stone arch where nature has reclaimed the structure. Thick tufts of green grass push through every joint in the crumbling masonry, their blades glistening with fresh raindrops from the passing shower. The cool season air leaves the stone surfaces damp and dark gray, against the vibrant vegetation. Dust hangs in the air, catching the first rays of the low sun that strike the horizon. A puddle forms in a hollow of the platform, reflecting the pale sky above. Water drips steadily from the arch's edge, falling onto the wet earth below.
