Crumbling Fortress Wall with Trees at Dawn

Cold silver dawn light washes over the crumbling stone battlements of a fortress wall, where moss and small trees have taken root in the cracks. The rough texture of the weathered masonry contrasts with the vibrant green of the foliage sprouting from the top. Below, toppled columns lie scattered among a dense carpet of nettles, their serrated leaves glistening with the fine mist of a light drizzle. The early autumn air hangs heavy with moisture, turning the stone a deeper shade of grey. To the right, the rule of thirds places the main structure against a backdrop of fading twilight, while a single branch from a tree on the wall drips water onto the mossy ground below.
