Overgrown Stone Chapel Ruins Autumn Light in among roofless stone chambers in Prince Edward Island

Overgrown Stone Chapel Ruins Autumn Light

by Sakura Suarez

Soft, diffused afternoon light falls through a canopy of early autumn vines clinging to crumbling stone walls. The roofless chamber reveals layers of depth as mossy gray stones recede into shadow. Thick, dark roots snake across the floor, intertwining with hanging green tendrils that drape from the upper masonry. Damp air hangs heavy, visible as a slight haze between the rough masonry blocks. Patches of brown and russet leaves scatter the ground, against the enduring gray of the stone. One fallen branch rests against a jagged archway, its texture sharp against the weathered surface of the ancient masonry.
