Feather Duster Worm Fanning on Cebu Coral

Bright sunlight penetrates the clear blue water, illuminating a feather duster worm extending its feathery crown from a white, calcified tube anchored to a textured coral wall. The worm's radioles fan outward in a symmetrical, intricate pattern, catching the flat noon glare with a subtle sheen. Tiny suspended particles glitter throughout the water column, creating a field of scattered light around the creature. The coral surface displays rough, porous ridges in muted earth tones, against the soft, delicate filaments of the worm. A faint shadow falls beneath the tube, at the base of the organism against the rock. The water remains still, preserving the crisp detail of every filament against the deep blue backdrop.
