The crustacean carries a dense mosaic of anemone fragments across its carapace, their translucent tips swaying gently with slow-moving surface ripples above. Cool season clarity renders the background in layers of receding blue, fading from sharp detail near the subject to a soft, indistinct horizon. Textures range from the rough, calcified surface of the reef rock to the soft, feathery appendages of the anemones clinging to the crab's shell. Sunlight fractures into scattered beams, highlighting the intricate patterns of the marine life against the deep azure void of the ocean.
