Elephant Sprays Water in Autumn Fog Near Winnipeg

Hard coastal glare illuminates a gray elephant mid-action, its trunk arched high as a fan of water droplets sprays across its dusty back. Late autumn light falls through a thin layer of light fog, softening the background while keeping the wet skin glistening under the bright midmorning sun. The animal stands near a frozen treeline where bare branches of aspen and birch stretch upward, their leaves long gone. Water droplets catch the light like suspended diamonds against the muted browns and grays of the season. In the foreground, shallow depth of field blurs the dry grass, drawing focus to the spray's arc. One droplet rests on the tip of the trunk, catching the glare before falling.
