Basalt Ruins Amidst Vine Choked Corridor Colombia

by Leroy Enriquez

Thick mist hangs low over black volcanic sand where weathered basalt blocks form a crumbling corridor. Green vines twist tightly around the dark stone surfaces, their leaves filtering late afternoon sunlight into dappled patches across the uneven ground. The blocks show rough textures and mossy green edges where moisture collects. Layers of the stone structure recede into the distance, fading into the white haze. Early winter light strikes the foliage with a soft, cool tone, highlighting the resilience of the plants growing through the decay. One fallen leaf rests on a jagged rock edge near the foreground.
