Abandoned Flour Mill Ruin in Colombian Vine Corridor

by Gladys Glover

Soft, diffused morning light fills the wide panoramic view of a crumbling flour mill structure entangled in thick green vines. The stone walls, stained with decades of moisture, support heavy wooden grain chutes draped in dense, gray cobwebs that shimmer faintly in the overcast glow. Lush tropical foliage creeps up the masonry, its leaves glistening with recent rain from the Colombian rainy season. Patches of moss rest on the damp foundation, blending with the rusted metal edges of the machinery. The sky above remains a pale, uniform white, allowing the textures of decay and vibrant growth to stand out clearly. A tangle of ivy roots wraps tightly around a broken wooden beam near the ground, anchoring the ruin to the earth.
