Foggy Alley at Dawn with Stacked Crates in outside a metro entrance in Ibagué

Foggy Alley at Dawn with Stacked Crates

by Rita Kerr

Silver rain coats the wet asphalt of a narrow back alley near a metro entrance in Ibagué, turning the ground into a reflective mirror. Stacks of weathered wooden and plastic delivery crates rise in uneven rows, their surfaces darkened by moisture and marked with faded stencils. A thick, pale fog rolls through the space, softening the edges of the metal doorways and brick walls in the background. The dry season air holds a fine mist that rests on the corrugated metal roofs overhead. Soft, overcast light diffuses evenly across the scene, eliminating harsh shadows. In the immediate foreground, out-of-focus droplets on a nearby surface create a blurred silver border, framing the stillness of the stacked goods against the gray morning sky.
