Battered Aluminum Thermos in Medellin

A battered aluminum thermos sits on a rain-slicked concrete ledge in a Medellin courtyard, its surface reflecting the pale gray light of a misty dawn. Condensation beads cluster along the silver rim where the cap meets the body, evidence of the cool morning air settling over the warm metal. Behind the vessel, a blurred background of wet banana leaves and distant hillside rooftops fades into the heavy fog that blankets the valley. One drop of water rests on the edge of the thermos, waiting to fall onto the damp stone below.
