Abandoned Shipyard Shed Ruins in Colombia Rainy Season

by Eileen Soto

Thick mist hangs low over a decaying shipyard shed in Colombia, where soft overcast light falls through gaps in the collapsed roof. Puddles on the rusted metal floor mirror the skeletal timber trusses above, creating fractured reflections that shift with the rain. Lush green vines climb the peeling concrete walls of nearby cloisters, their broad leaves glistening with moisture. The ground is a mix of wet gravel and muddy earth, scattered with fragments of corroded steel. Layers of depth recede into the distance as the mist blurs the outlines of further ruined structures. One droplet slides down a jagged beam, tracing a path through the grime before falling into a dark puddle below.
