Surgeonfish School Grazing Coral Wall Belize

Silhouetted surgeonfish glide in a tight school along a textured coral wall, their dark bodies contrasting against the deep blue water beyond. Early evening light falls through the wet season haze, illuminating suspended particles that glitter like scattered diamonds in the water column. The reef rock displays rough, uneven surfaces where algae grows in thin green layers, the target of the fish's grazing. Depth layers stretch from the immediate foreground of the coral structure into the fading blue distance. Small bubbles rest on the rock crevices, and the water's surface tension creates a subtle shimmer above the school.
