Spoonbill Feeding in Vidisha Lagoon at Sunset

Deep amber light from the setting sun floods the shallow lagoon near Vidisha, turning the water into a sheet of molten copper. A large white spoonbill stands motionless in the waist-deep liquid, its distinctive flattened bill probing the silt. Dramatic, bruised clouds stack high in the sky, casting long, shifting shadows across the wetland surface. The bird's feathers glow against the darkening water, creating a stark contrast between the pale plumage and the rich, fiery tones of the horizon. Ripples fan out from the bird's legs as it shifts its weight, breaking the glassy reflection of the sky. One dark feather rests on the water's surface near the bird's beak, marking the edge of the feeding zone.
