Spanish Dancer Nudibranch Silhouetted Against Reef Light

Vibrant orange and red ruffles of a Spanish dancer nudibranch float in open water, their translucent edges glowing against the bright afternoon sun. The creature drifts beneath a dark reef crevice, its undulating skirt creating a stark silhouette. Fine plankton particles hang in the water column, softening the background into a hazy, diffuse blue. Sunlight penetrates the clear surface, illuminating the water's depth while casting the reef structure in shadow. The nudibranch's delicate, leaf-like appendages ripple gently, anchored only by the current. One beam of light catches the trailing edge of the creature's mantle, highlighting the thin membrane against the dark stone.
