Slovak Riprap Levee Under Dawn Bridge Mist

Thick gray mist rests on the lower section of a massive riprap levee, obscuring the transition to the riverbed below. Dark, horizontal silt lines stain the rough, angular stones, marking the recent high-water mark from a flood. Above, the steel cables of a cable-stayed bridge stretch into the fog, their tension lines vanishing into the white void. Cold silver dawn light reflects off the wet surfaces of the rocks, highlighting the jagged edges and the deep crevices between the boulders. The perspective looks upward from the ground, showing the sheer scale of the stone wall against the slender metal supports. A small puddle at the base of the wall mirrors the pale sky and the dark silhouette of a single cable anchor.
