Thick monsoon mist swallows the upper reaches of a steel signal gantry ladder, leaving only the lower rungs and concrete anchors visible beneath a massive cable-stayed bridge span. Low dawn light traces the wet, gray edges of the concrete supports, highlighting the slick texture of rain-slicked metal against the pale, vibrating air. The vertical lines of the ladder vanish into the white void above the railway tracks. Heavy cables stretch across the frame, their surfaces glistening with moisture from the humid season. The perspective looks down from a high angle, showing the scale of the infrastructure as it disappears into the fog. one drop of water rests on the edge of a metal beam.
