Levee Road River Mouth Dawn Winter Rain

Wet asphalt stretches forward along the Bradford levee, flanked by concrete barriers that rise steeply above the swollen river mouth. Gray rain clouds hang low, diffusing the pale first light into a uniform, soft glow. Puddles on the road surface reflect the overcast sky and the dark silhouettes of the embankment walls. Bare winter branches lean over the path, their thin twigs glistening with steady moisture. The converging lines of the road and barriers draw toward a distant vanishing point where the water meets the horizon. Heavy rain streaks across the scene, blurring the far edges of the embankment while keeping the foreground texture of the wet pavement sharp and dark. A faint sheen of water rests on the rough concrete surface of the barrier on the right.
