Braided River on Gravel Floodplain After Rain

Low morning light strikes the horizon haze, illuminating dust that hangs suspended just above the wet gravel floodplain near Leipzig. Multiple river channels braid across the wide expanse, their shallow waters reflecting the pale sky. The gravel bed displays a palette of greys, browns, and muted ochres, against the darker, meandering water paths. The turn of seasons leaves the surrounding vegetation sparse and dormant, showing the vastness of the geologic landscape. From a high vantage point, the intricate network of streams spreads outward like a silver vein system. A small ripple in the main channel catches the first direct sunbeam, creating a sharp line of white foam against the dark stones.
