Silvery winter light falls through thick fog resting on a dark tidal channel in Sulawesi. A massive steel drawbridge lifts slowly, its heavy counterweights vanishing into the pre-dawn gloom. Wet metal surfaces gleam with a cold, industrial sheen, reflecting the pale sky above. Water churns beneath the rising span, creating white foam against the deep black of the channel. Concrete piers stand solid against the mist, anchoring the structure in the humid monsoon air. Mechanical gears and hydraulic pistons appear in sharp detail, revealing the force required to move the bridge. The view spans wide, showing the scale of the infrastructure against the vast, empty waterway. At the edge lies the reflection of the steel beam's edge on the rippling water below.
