Fresh Concrete Patch on Levee Retaining Wall in along a levee path above floodwater in Berrechid

Fresh Concrete Patch on Levee Retaining Wall

by Holden McCullough

Copper-toned light from the dying day washes over a weathered concrete retaining wall along a Berrechid levee path. The wall shows a distinct rectangular patch of fresh, pale gray concrete where repairs were made, its smooth surface against the rough, stained texture of the surrounding masonry. A thin layer of monsoon fog softens the distant horizon where floodwater meets the sky. The repair patch sits in the lower third of the view, catching the last warm glow while the rest of the structure falls into shadow. Small cracks run through the older concrete, filled with dark grime from the humid season. The wet path beside the wall reflects the fading sky in a narrow strip of dark water.
