Silhouetted Rusting Gurneys in Gwangju Hospital Corridor

Cool blue twilight fills a long ward corridor where a decaying military hospital stands in Gwangju. Several gurneys, their metal frames heavily rusted, rest in silhouette against the faint light from the far end of the hallway. Broken glass shards scatter across the floor, catching the dim illumination, while patches of falling plaster hang from the ceiling and frame the walls. The surfaces appear clean despite the abandonment, with minimal clutter disrupting the orderly rows of medical equipment. Dry season air leaves the dust settled and the textures sharp. One rusted wheel on the nearest gurney rests directly on a jagged piece of white tile, at the base of the scene in its quiet, elegant ruin.
