Silhouetted Anglerfish Off Senegal Coast

Deep water turns to dark indigo as the sun dips low over the Senegalese coast, casting a long, shimmering path of light across the surface. Against this glowing backdrop, a deep-sea anglerfish hangs in silhouette, its jagged dorsal fin and elongated body defined only by the outline. The creature's bioluminescent lure glows with a faint, internal greenish-white point of light, the only source of illumination within its own form. Surrounding the fish, tall strands of kelp drift slowly in the current, their fronds reaching upward toward the rippling surface. The water remains exceptionally clear, allowing the distant light to penetrate deep into the scene without scattering. One strand of kelp rests against the dark shape of the fish's tail.
