Silhouetted Anglerfish Winter Near Tel Aviv

A deep-sea anglerfish rises in silhouette against the fading orange glow of a winter sunset near Tel Aviv. Its elongated body and distinctive dorsal lure form a stark black shape against the bright water. Tiny suspended particles glitter like scattered diamonds throughout the water column, catching the backlight and creating a field of soft points. Layers of depth recede behind the fish, fading from sharp definition to hazy blue-grey distance. The cold season is evident in the clarity of the water and the low angle of the sun. A faint reflection of the lure's light ripples on the surface above, marking the boundary between the dark depths and the bright sky.
