Whale Tail Diving Before Dawn in Fukuoka Waters

Cold moonlight washes the dark surface of the open ocean near Fukuoka in the still hours before dawn. A massive whale tail fluke rises vertically from the water, its dark grey skin wet and glistening under the pale light. The tail separates from the sea, revealing the deep curve of the fluke against a sky that holds no sun yet.
