Seahorses Anchored to Sea Fan in Cebu

Rich amber sunlight penetrates the exceptionally clear water, illuminating two seahorses anchored to the branching structure of a gorgonian sea fan. The coral displays intricate textures in warm copper tones against the dark volcanic reef overhang nearby. Shallow depth of field blurs the distant water while keeping the seahorses' delicate, curled tails and bony plates in sharp focus. Slow-moving surface ripples create a shimmering, rhythmic pattern of light that falls across the subjects. The water remains perfectly still around the creatures, holding them steady within the monsoon season's calm underwater currents. A fine grain of suspended sediment catches the fading light near the seahorse's snout.
