Brilliant caustic light ripples across the textured surface of fan-shaped coral colonies nestled in a narrow reef crevice. The water clarity reveals the intricate, lace-like branching of orange and pale yellow fans that dominate the foreground. A soft haze of suspended plankton diffuses the background, creating a gentle separation between the sharp coral structures and the distant reef wall. Sunlight penetrates the cool tropical water, casting dancing patterns of bright white and turquoise that shift across the calcified surfaces. Tiny particles float in the current, catching the glare of the early afternoon sun. at the edge is a sharp, jagged edge of coral where a shadow meets a beam of refracted light.
