Silhouetted Parrotfish Grazing on Volcanic Reef

Cold moonlight falls through exceptionally clear water, casting a pale blue glow over a volcanic reef overhang near Denpasar. A parrotfish moves slowly across the dark, textured coral, its form reduced to a sharp silhouette against the brighter surface ripples above. The water remains still, with only faint, slow-moving undulations disturbing the light. Volcanic rock creates jagged shadows along the reef floor, against the smooth, grazing path of the fish. The monsoon season keeps the water surface calm, allowing the moon's reflection to stretch across the frame. The fish's rounded head and curved body define the shape against the luminous water column. A thin line of light traces the edge of the parrotfish's dorsal fin.
