Parrotfish in Mucus Cocoon Night Coral Reef

A parrotfish rests motionless against a textured coral wall, encased in a translucent, bubble-filled mucus cocoon that glows with a faint silvery sheen. The fish's body presses flat into the rough limestone, eyes closed in deep stillness. Surrounding water holds a dense haze of suspended plankton, diffusing the ambient light into a soft, gray-blue wash. Tiny particles drift lazily in the current, catching the dim illumination. The cocoon stretches slightly beyond the fish's scales, forming a protective, gelatinous shell. Fine details of the coral ridges press against the mucus surface, while the background dissolves into a uniform, rainy-season murk. The texture of the slime glistens wetly, revealing the fish's shape within the suspended sphere.
