New Zealand Fur Seal Pup Drifting in Dawn Water

Low sun light strikes the horizon haze, casting a soft golden glow across the exceptionally clear water where a fur seal pup floats. The pup rests beside a tide-cut rock ledge, its dark, sleek fur against the pale sand and transparent depths. Slow-moving surface ripples distort the light just above the pup's back, creating shifting patterns of brightness and shadow. The water clarity reveals the smooth texture of the submerged rock beneath, while the pup's whiskers catch the early morning light. Shallow depth of field blurs the distant shoreline, keeping focus on the creature's calm, weightless posture as it drifts in the quiet, late summer dawn.
