Seal in Blue Hour Through Kelp and Water
by Johnny Huber
Blue hour light falls through exceptionally clear water, illuminating a harbor seal gliding beside a rocky shelf in San Francisco. The animal moves through broken surface ripples that cast silver reflections across its sleek, dark fur. Tall kelp fronds sway gently in the current, their green blades framing the creature against the deep blue backdrop. The water remains still, allowing light to penetrate in soft, diffuse beams that highlight the texture of the seal's skin. Sunlight reflects off the water's surface, creating shimmering patches that dance over the rocky formations below. The seal's eye catches a faint glint of the fading sky, while the kelp fronds sway slowly in the current, their tips brushing the water's surface. The rocky shelf provides a solid anchor, its rough texture against the fluid motion of the water and the seal's smooth body.
