Low-hanging gray clouds hang above a wet meadow where New Borg El Arab city lights begin to glow in the distance. A cluster of honeycomb-textured morel mushrooms rises from dark, rain-soaked leaf litter in the foreground. The ground reflects the distant orange and white urban glow, spreading shimmering light across the brown forest floor. Water droplets rest on the spongy caps of the fungi, highlighting their ridged surfaces. Beside the mushrooms, puddles mirror the artificial illumination. Rain-slicked earth meets the encroaching artificial light. A drop of water slides from the edge of a mushroom cap, falling toward the damp soil below.
