Wildflowers in Glass Jar Monsoon Forest Bhagalpur
by Sylvia Lang
Damp ferns carpet the forest floor near Bhagalpur, their fronds heavy with monsoon rain as steady drops fall across the scene. A clear glass jar containing wildflowers rests on the wet ground beside a shallow pool of water. City lights begin to glow in the distance, their electric reflection shimmering across the water's surface and bouncing onto the jar's curved side. The wildflowers inside stand vibrant against the grey sky, their stems submerged in clear water that mirrors the ambient urban glow. Ferns display deep, saturated greens, curling slightly under the weight of the downpour. Light from the distant city casts soft, shifting highlights against the surrounding leaves and the glass vessel. One raindrop slides down the glass, leaving a temporary trail before merging with the puddle below.
