Red Fly Agaric in Borneo Garden Fog in among terraced garden plots in Borneo

Red Fly Agaric in Borneo Garden Fog

by Elsie Roy

Vibrant red caps speckled with white warts rise from damp earth within terraced garden plots of Borneo. Early evening light fades into deep shadow, yet a sharp rim of cool blue light traces the curved edges of the mushroom caps. Thin layers of wet season fog drift across the terraced soil, softening the green foliage in the background while keeping the fungal texture crisp. The ground appears saturated and dark, reflecting the muted twilight sky. Small droplets rest on the gills beneath the cap, glistening faintly against the encroaching darkness. One white spot on the upper right edge of the nearest cap catches the fading light, standing out against the surrounding gloom.
