Cobalt water surrounds a moray eel resting beneath a reef ledge in tropical shallows near Stone Town. The creature's spotted skin contrasts against the dark stone as silvery winter light falls through the surface. Clear water reveals slow-moving ripples above while the thermocline creates a distinct horizontal band of brightness. The eel remains frozen in motion, its mouth slightly open against the deep blue backdrop. Fine sand covers the ocean floor, scattered with small coral fragments that catch the pale light. The water's surface acts as a translucent ceiling, diffusing the dawn glow into the submerged space. A faint shadow stretches along the ledge's edge where the light fades into deeper blue.
