The rough, porous texture of the surrounding reef structures contrasts with the smooth scales of the eel. Beyond the coral, the water transitions into a deep blue that stretches toward the horizon. Slow-moving ripples on the surface create gentle distortions in the light filtering down from above. The wet season clarity allows a sharp view of the intricate coral formations. Shadows fall softly across the reef floor, highlighting the depth of the crevice. The eel's eye reflects a pinpoint of the fading sunlight, anchoring the stillness of the underwater landscape.
