The animal's sleek, spotted fur clings tightly to its body, appearing darker and wet under the water. Sunlight penetrates the rain-season clarity, illuminating suspended particles that glitter like dust in the water column. The background dissolves into a soft blur of grey stone and deep blue shadows, isolating the seal against the vertical rock face. One beam of light catches the curve of the seal's shoulder, highlighting the texture of wet skin against the smooth, water-worn stone.
